Holidays in Corfu, Greece with comfort, hospitality and respect
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am a 4th generation descendant of Gerasimos Markoras and since Poet's House is in my loving care, I decided to renovate the house in order to preserve the inheritance for the local community. I will be happy to welcome you in my 300 year old village mansion, where my forbear, the Corfiot poet Gerasimos Markoras (1826-1911) lived and wrote most of his poems. Now it is a little historical treasure and a romantic place for vacations.

The house is set on the top of Stronghili, a small traditional village, tucked in the hillside and looking across the lush green valley towards the traditional villages of Agios Mattheos and Ano Garounas. It is ideally located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and yet close enough to shopping and dining areas. The Corfu town centre is about 25 km away. The beatiful beach of Agios(Saint) Ioannis Peristeron is 2 km away and Halikounas Water Island and beach is 7 km away. The resort of Moraitika is 3 km away where a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops can be found.

Poet's house is warm and welcoming house with a 'family room' kitchen / dining / living room with magnificent wooden dining table, well-equipped kitchen and fireplace in the small living area on the right corner. Walk through into a more formal living room with desk and sofa bed, the shower room and toilet

It is suitable for up to four persons. Two can be accommodated in the bedroom and two others in the living room, which has a sofa bed. The bright colours with the different nuances of red, in combination with the dark wooden furniture and wooden ceiling, create a feeling of warmth and vivacity.

Poet's House consists of a ground floor, first floor, veranda and garden. In front of the entrance, there is a veranda with a marble table and iron chairs. There is a garden with fruit-bearing trees and flowers, where guests can relax and enjoy coffee on the sun beds. The ground floor is divided in two areas. At the entrance, the kitchen with the big dining table dominates. A fireplace with a small living area is on the right corner. The main living room has a desk corner, shower room and a toilet. An internal stairs leads to the bedroom, which has a double bed and a closet.

Now it is available Poet's House 2, which is suitable for another up to four persons.

I will be happy to welcome you at Poet's House of Corfu and I am sure, you will have great stay in this historical place, from where you can start discovering Corfu's secret beauties, culture and traditions in your holidays.

If you want to display a little wealth yourself, Dubai is a great place to pick up precious metals and stones, and in particular, gold and platinum jewellery. The Gould Souk is the place to go to get access to a large range of pieces, although be prepared to haggle if you want to get the best prices. For perhaps the best bargains, the Gold and Diamond Park is like a retail outlet for jewellery, and is also home to some skilled designers who can produce top class replicas.

Insurance advice for the Philippines Insurance

People in general are aware that when they travel to foreign countries they are wise to take out travel insurance when they book their holiday, or alternatively to purchase a plan that covers a whole year’s travelling. And most people wouldn’t think about leaving the country without it, well aware of its necessity in the event of an unplanned occurrence. But what people are less aware of is the possibility that the travel insurance policy that they have purchased may not cover them for all eventualities – and we’re not just talking about natural disasters being exempt. Exemptions are likely to be pretty normal things, like sub-aquatic sports and backpacking.
